The mandatory system test (MST) is in place to check you meet the requirements to take a remote exam. It will test the following areas:

  • Device - make sure your device meets the minimum system requirements. (PDF)
  • Internet connection and speed - always use a wired connection.
  • Camera and microphone - you should enable your privacy settings to allow the exam access.
  • Close all applications - if they are still running you can end them in task manager. If continue to open, disable the application in task manager.
  • Software - we always recommend updating your software regularly and it should be running the latest version.
  • You are not using a Hotspot or Dongle.

In the event of not passing the MST, the screen will indicate why it has not passed.

Your last test should be a pass to grant eligibility for post-exam options, and this should be taken before your exam day. Tests taken on the day as part of check-in, between weeks 1 and 2 do not count towards post-exam options.

MST results
It can take 72 hours for the MST results to appear on your Exam Planner, we would recommend completing the test as early as possible to overcome any issues you may face before your exam.

Please note that the mandatory system test is testing your device and set up, we are unable to support passing the test. If you are using a corporate or work device, please speak to your internal IT team for support.
